Mind you, I'm no expert on Blackmoor lore, so I suppose it's possible there is a "Giant Kingdom" nearby that I simply can't remember.James Maliszewskihttp://grognardia.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-6504212059127196442012-04-15T20:52:52.775-04:002012-04-15T20:52:52.775-04:00In the First Fantasy Campaign, it mentions a "...In the First Fantasy Campaign, it mentions a "Grand Kingdom" to the south.darkharlequin666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-62993468194391685232012-04-15T19:36:17.656-04:002012-04-15T19:36:17.656-04:00I always thought the Giant Kingdom was legit mysel...I always thought the Giant Kingdom was legit myself, and a major part, of the territories showcased in the Against the Giant" series.<br /> iron facenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-10480695550176164942012-04-15T11:54:11.985-04:002012-04-15T11:54:11.985-04:00Just made a quick check of the first and last prin...Just made a quick check of the first and last printing of Holmes, and each has "Giant Kingdom", so this was never changed.Zenopus Archivesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-20600786050885229862012-04-15T11:52:25.492-04:002012-04-15T11:52:25.492-04:00Interesting. I noticed this in Holmes before but had assumed that "Great Kingdom" and "Giant Kingdom" were just different names for the same thing, not realizing that both were "Great" in the original version. There was a bit of editing done to the Holmes version, mostly in the right hand column to clarify references particular to the LBBs. Any chance that the change from "Great" to "Giant" could be a correction rather than a typo?Zenopus Archivesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-13546795098552499372012-04-15T11:31:37.659-04:002012-04-15T11:31:37.659-04:00That's the kind of typo that one could have fu...That's the kind of typo that one could have fun with. Since the "Great Kingdom" later became a part of Greyhawk, this has me wondering where I would place the "Giant Kingdom." Hmm... Bone march might be fitting, if only for the word-association with "grind their bones to make their bread."Anthony Raganhttp://breeland.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
