If my campaigns stopped after only one session where not much happened, then I would never have a campaign last more than 3-5 sessions at most. As it is, my current campaign has been running since May 2001 with basically the same core group of players, although many players have drifted in and out over the years. There's no plan to quit playing any time soon, and the players (and me as the DM) are very forgiving of sessions where relatively little happens. We're also very understanding about lapses in play - we've had several members in the group get married, have kids, move away and then move back, and all of those grind the campaign to a halt for periods of time. We even went "on hiatus" at one point for more than a year, but then picked right back up where we left off and kept going. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.Martin R. Nice upending of the traditional role of Dwarves in FRPGs, which usually have them as some sort of patrons to early man.
