But that is probably only a really big deal to those actually playing Universe I guess...akfu23https://www.blogger.com/profile/07850846883927606868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-47693047042942324722010-12-07T10:42:28.485-05:002010-12-07T10:42:28.485-05:00This is a resource originally designed for SF writ...This is a resource originally designed for SF writers, which should also come in handy for gamers. I would have funneled my allowance into Universe rather than Star Frontiers, definitely. I loved the 2300 AD star maps and read them over and over again - even though the actual game mechanics kinda . . . sucked.

Star AMp enthusiasts may enjoy WINCHELL CHUNG's site at http://www.projectrho.com/starmap.html . But only now it was expanded out even further!Robert Conleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03863009007381185340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-36282780046918723172010-12-06T22:11:49.361-05:002010-12-06T22:11:49.361-05:00Thanks, if you look at the TL timeline for Univers...Thanks, if you look at the TL timeline for Universe you will see a 100 year gap between serious space travel and FTL travel.

So what I did is make a sublight colonization timeline including population expansion. I assumed they could get up to 20% of light speed safely at first increasing to 60% during the last decades.

Pulled out my Casio FX and computed the LY distance. Rolled up the star systems and played a little mini-game of let's colonize space.

I need to hunt for a copy my personal copy is much battered and missing the map.

Again thanks.Robert Conleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03863009007381185340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-14855758666310431042010-12-06T20:49:40.050-05:002010-12-06T20:49:40.050-05:00I used to have that map hanging on my bedroom wall...I used to have that map hanging on my bedroom wall from 1981-1984.Gareth-Michael Skarkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06188097972205485799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-19458416444289596232010-12-06T20:32:16.560-05:002010-12-06T20:32:16.560-05:00Before.
