As far as I've been able to uncover in my research, those three dungeons in that order really were the first three great RPG dungeon settings.

Even better, it is not well recognized, though it should have been, making it a symbol of the need for recognition this award is intended to address for new products.Rick Marshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01707062453047354335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-40172712218706289482010-10-10T01:28:16.772-04:002010-10-10T01:28:16.772-04:00Definitely and definitively: Stonehell.Definitely and definitively: Stonehell.1-Hit Wizardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14924201098886250472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-24701951946998681592010-10-09T18:46:16.945-04:002010-10-09T18:46:16.945-04:00My picks are also Stonehell Dungeon and the Dungeo...My picks are also Stonehell Dungeon and the Dungeon Alphabet. I predict the field of contenders will therefore be particularly small. This is basically a multiple-vanity project.. Kuntz's, Rhea's, and the handful of people who will go through the trouble of submitting."

The submission guidelines are virtually identical to many other similar awards, including the Ennies. This is a competition, not an award for valor. Self-submission is pretty much the way these things go....

I don't get the "multiple vanity" thing. Any award has an element of ego and vanity connected to it, both for the people giving the award and those hoping to win. Rob is not on the steering committee, and has no power to influence or pick items that get moved on to the judges panel.

Personally I hope the field of contenders is small, as long as they are the "best" in the field.Badmikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06199830751033032585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-71547945818831151042010-10-08T14:13:37.950-04:002010-10-08T14:13:37.950-04:00My choice for the third castle would have been MAR...My choice for the third castle would have been MAR Barker's Jakallan Underworld.

LOTFPWFRPG would be my choice, but I dunno if Raggi even has 5-7 copies lying around to fulfill the submission requirements.Blairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10884401206802336531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-12447171595106182102010-10-08T14:12:30.648-04:002010-10-08T14:12:30.648-04:00And in the spirit of charity, maybe the Pathfinder...And in the spirit of charity, maybe the Pathfinder Game Mastey Guide.John Harper Brinegarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17592827787099084705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7487871339000666216.post-78029169096510018502010-10-08T14:10:45.248-04:002010-10-08T14:10:45.248-04:00My nominations:

The game takes the template of OD&D and subtly twists it into an atmospheric riff on the tropes we all know and love.
