Old School Mini-Con III

Bob Reed passes along the following information about an old school "mini-convention" next month in Anaheim, California:
On Saturday, August 14 we are having an informal old school RPG "SoCal Mini-Con III" in Anaheim, California. Thus far we have games scheduled to be run by blog and forum writers including T. Foster (AD&D), Brunomac (OD&D), Cimmerian (Urutsk: World of Mystery), and Cyclopeatron (Gamma World). As well, we will be lucky to have Tavis Allison from the NYC Mule Abides blog at the event. The event is highly informal and the only potential fee for attendees would be a minimal amount to help cover renting the clubhouse. Attendance will be capped at 30 people.
More detailed information can be found here.

  1. This should be a lot of fun. We've got several good games on the schedule (I'm running an AD&D conversion of the final section of Gygax's Necropolis and already have an almost-full slot of players signed up), and there's also talk of grilled meat, home-brewed beer, and a used book/game swap. We're not yet at the point to justify anybody traveling in from out of town to attend, but everybody local to SoCal should definitely come :)

  8. Just a few weeks ago, I attended a retro-gaming con in Dallas, the North Texas RPG Con, where I had a terrific time. If this one's anything like that, it should be well worth attending.
