Wikipedia Amusement

As many people pointed out to me today via email, today's Wikipedia Featured Article was Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. That's pretty cool, as is the fact that the article cites my interview with Tim Kask from almost two years ago as a source.

With luck, I'll be less busy tomorrow and will be have more posts. My apologies for the slowdown.

  1. It was weird a while back to hear Steve Colbert played D&D in the past, but that Barrier Peaks was his fave module blows my mind.

  2. Wikipedia can be a good source of fun and knowledge about D&D, if the community invests it. I started an article about OD&D and another about Gnolls, which I plan to move forward to the "good article" label.

  3. I couldn't resist adding a link to the Tim Kask interview last year, thanks. :)

Unfortunately there are still some fairly miserable errors in the article which anonymous-clueless of Wikipedia can present as fact on a Featured (best of WP!) article while those who know better generally sit back and leave them to it.
e.g. "[Expedition to the Barrier Peaks] was used to introduce Dungeons & Dragons players to the science fiction game Metamorphosis Alpha". Erm; no dice, try again. ;)

  4. Thanks to Wikipedia's Featured Article I now know about this blog! I've already read through your Dwimmermount recounts and eagerly await the next chapter.

I was also inspired to go down to the basement and dig the RPG storage bins out of hiding. I'm amazed how much I kept!

Anyway, thanks for the great blog and for re-sparking my interest in RPGs again.
