Dhich'uné is Dead

The penultimate session of the House of Worms campaign wrapped just minutes ago, with the defeat of Prince Dhich'uné within the bowels of Avanthár. Next week will see the campaign conclude after ten and a half years.

I'll do a fuller write-up of today's events later, but I felt the need to share this momentous occasion.

  1. Congrats on the successful conclusion to such a long running campaign!

    1. Cant wait to hear. Does this mean the players are the good guys after all ? ;)

    2. "Good guy" is a relative term on Tékumel, but, in a certain sense, I wouldn't hesitate in saying yes in this particular instance.

    1. It was definitely a possibility – but the characters had some assistance that I'll talk about in my summary of the session.

    2. Undead Undead Undead?

  4. Did you leave off the "un" prefix in front of "dead" there? :)

    1. I suspect that would have been a very, very different conclusion than the one we're going to hear all about!

    2. That is not dead, which … has come back as a Shedra?

I’ve enjoyed following this campaign, so the conclusion is a little bittersweet, especially with unanswered questions and unfollowed leads. James, I hope the ending lived up to your hopes! Think this will be your last foray in Tékumel?

    3. To be clear: there's still one more session to go to wrap everything up that can be wrapped up. After that, there will be a post mortem, when I'll let the players ask me questions about how I ran things and why, as well as about threads still left dangling. This will probably mark the end of my Tékumel adventures, but who can say for sure? I don't see myself returning to the setting again after more than a decade of play.

    4. Yes, just because Dhich’uné is a goner doesn’t mean the Kólumejálim has been decided.

I’d be curious to know what the PC’s contact in the College at The End of Time says about this: was it the right choice in the long run? And I am still curious where that Belle of Bey Sü breadcrumb was supposed to lead.

  5. I wonder, however, if this development pleased the One Other or not, and if it pleased, might that in some way put the party in the role of the "bad guys?" If it displeased the One Other, that *kind of* seems like trouble too.

And if this achieved status quo...did the One Other get to collect the soul of Dhich'uné early? After all, he is by definition now a failed candidate!

  6. So it is done. I'm *really* looking forward to this write up! It has been a campaign I've followed from the start and it feels a bit sad that it has come to an end. But, the end really looked to be quite something.

  8. Prince Dhich'une's dead....Undead! Undead! Undead!

But seriously, congrats, James, on a well run long form Tekumel campaign!
