The evil geniuses at Otherworld Miniatures will soon be releasing miniatures of everyone's favorite "cleaning crew" monsters: the gelatinous cube.
The cube comes in a "standard" and "deluxe" format, the deluxe version having an undigested skeleton floating in the middle of it. I have to admit that I'm very tempted to get one of these, but, given the pace at which my previous Otherworld minis have been painted, I'm not sure I can justify the expense at this time. Still, it does look terrific, doesn't it?
Dear James,
ReplyDeleteWow, it sure does.
Yours truly,
Rick
Very, very cool.
ReplyDeleteGo on! Secure a cube or two for Dwimmermount. It's not like the squishy beastie needs much painting...
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely mini. I find that I enjoy the WotC cube mini as well--especially since you can open it up and insert the PC mini that the cube just engulfed. Nothing like seeing your character floating inside to motivate the rest of the party!

ReplyDeleteGotta love tha' cubes. But I think melting down a fake novelty ice cube a bit would do the job. If you don't mind a giant fly inside it that is.
ReplyDeleteVery cool
ReplyDeleteI must own one of these!
ReplyDelete@rainswept: That is a wonderful suggestion! I've been looking for a cheap means to replicate a cube and I love that idea.
ReplyDeleteIt will be so nice to do my shopping at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for a change, rather than Bloodbath and Beyond.
He'll crack and buy three.
ReplyDelete"There's always 10X10 foot room for jello!"
ReplyDeleteSomeone should ask Delta about his experiment with using a 2" cube of actual jello as a Gelatinous Cube miniature...
Glooooorppp!!

Wow. I tried to mold one, with an embedded skeleton figure, out of poured resin 25 years ago but the it didn't harden correctly. Mine would have been a pure cube though. I like the more organic shape of this one.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! Wish it came pre-painted.
ReplyDeleteI love the OW mini, and hope that Richard is able to commission some with additional "flotsam" options, like Egg of Coot created awhile ago on Dragonsfoot @ http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&p=300019 (scroll to bottom of page): having something that's a hybrid of both figures would be ideal, in my mind :D
ReplyDeleteAllan.
But does this mini need to be painted?
