Kevin Mayle has produced a gorgeous painting as a tribute to the memory of Dave Arneson. As you can see, the painting recalls the cover of Supplement II, Blackmoor, which I always felt had the most evocative cover of all the OD&D supplements.
If you're interested, you can buy a copy in poster form or on canvas.
I, too, think that BLACKMOOR has the most evocative cover of the OD&D supplements.
ReplyDeleteHey James,
ReplyDeleteMy comment is a bit OT, but important, I think. As of last night, it looks like the Otherworld Miniatures site is experiencing a serious malware infestation, with site redirects and unasked for downloads and such. I checked his forum and it looks like a number of users besides me have reported this, so it's not just my computer. You might want to take down the link from your sidebar until the situation is resolved.
Now, on topic, that is a pretty kickass painting.
It's a really great tribute to a great man. I can't help but think the original is better though, sorry. The fact that (for the moment) they're cheek by jowl on the site does the new version a disservice.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Kevin's store. You can get this sucker on a T-shirt as well. That dark T looks nice!
