This is a rumor that Cartoon Network - which is owned by Time-Warner, who also owns DC - teaming-up with DC Comics, to have their Friday-night lineups as nothing but DC Superheroes. Hopefully they will show some new Brave and the Bold, and replay some old Justice League episodes. And yes, Brave and the Bold is so awesome!
B&B is great for over-the-hill fanboys like me - so many classic characters. I never dreamed I'd see Kamandi as an animated character. The B&B episode featuring Kamandi was a great tribute to the imagination and talent of Jack Kirby.
B-&-B has allowed them to go humorous/kids with Batman and I'm okay with that considering all the great serious stuff we had from Bruce Timm before.
The first Bat-mite episode and the Superman episode (and the Super-Batman episode) were so loaded with in-jokes ... I don't know if I was breathless from laughing or stunned by all the references.
And considering Deirich Bader had voiced 'Korgoth of Barbaria', which never got picked up, I'm glad he got the gig voicing Batman.
The fact that Tim Conway did the voicework made that episode all the sweeter.
ReplyDeleteI love The Weeper episode - I had to look it up, but he's a villain from the old Fawcett Bulletman comics voiced by Tim Conway (!?), lotsa laffs.
ReplyDeleteIt's a breath of fresh air, isn't it.

ReplyDeleteI have not yet watched any of this series, but I've read good things about it.
