If you're lost, it's only because you neglected to hire a scout.
Such a great game. I played the hell out of it at my friend's house as a child. As an adult, I bought a copy from eBay some 20+ years ago. I still play it with my own kids (on occasion). Much enjoyment from its simplicity, and the Bob Pepper artwork is second to none.
I managed to find a complete copy for a not horrible amount of money. I had told stories about this to my sons for years. Despite the build up, they were happy with the game. They love what they call the brutal AI. There is no attempt at balance. Sometimes you get crushed, sometimes you stroll along without incident. Most often it's a wide area in between.
I have to confess, D&D is the only TTRPG game I have ever played. In 40 years. With that said, I would be interested to know from other readers/contributors on here, if you could recommend just ONE other game, what would it be?
If it makes you feel any better, I had to look up "acumen" in the next post just to be sure I had the definition right.
Forbidding also gets applied when describing someone's demeanor as a synonym for "severe" or "cold" pretty often, although it's probably a bit old-fashioned these days.

I found the manual in the free bin outside McKay's and was fascinated with the art,but never ended up obtaining or playing a copy.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure it's an AI so much as a random number generator. Certainly can be brutal, though. :)
DeleteFun game. There's Flash version of the game you can play.

This is the only version I experienced, but I still love it to pieces.

I loved this game. I've been afraid to pull my copy out for years now, afraid the motor might be a brick at this point.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great one. And like someone mentioned, the Bob Pepper artwork is to die for.
