"We're #2!"

For those who haven't heard the news, Fight On! magazine is currently ranked #2 in Lulu.com's "Author Sales Contest." What that means is that, during the period beginning March 1 (and continuing through the end of the month), only one publisher has managed to sell more copies than has FO!. That's frankly a really remarkable achievement, considering that's an amateur fanzine selling primarily to a niche market. The top three spots receive monetary rewards and I know that Ignatius Umlaut would put the reward to good use.

So, if you haven't yet bought a copy of Fight On!, now's the time to do so. If you have, thanks for your support. And while you're at it, grab a copy of Knockspell #1 too, another superb old school fanzine.

  1. Dang. Do the sales of .pdf products count, too? If so, I've been meaning to pick up the .pdf files for 2-4. Might be a good time!

  2. "FO! has managed to sell more copies than only one other publisher." This is saying FO is next-to-last, not #2.

So it does. That's what I get for writing in haste as I was preparing to walk out the door.

I've corrected the entry to be clearer now.

I am pretty sure it does. The rankings are by publisher, not by specific product, so anything purchased from Ignatius Umlaut should count toward the rankings.

  5. Per Lulu.com: "Only print orders placed through Lulu.com checkout, recorded between March 1, 2009 and March 31, 2009 will be counted."

.Pdf files do not count, I'm afraid.

  8. Cool. I had no idea about the contest, but I just ordered Issue 4 last week. Glad I could contribute to the...fight.

  11. Grab a copy of Knockspell while you're there. I only just entered the contest, so I don't know where I stand in the ranks, but it will be interesting to see (I doubt I'll place anywhere near FO, since there's only one issue of KS up for sale, but I'll be interested to see where I come out).

  12. It's all print products, Matt. So your whole store sales will count towards final rankings.

Thanks for your support, James & everyone! (And thanks for mentioning us in your recent article, Allen!)

  14. I just wanted to say that I've been enjoying both Fight On! and Knockspell. I have every issue and look forward to each new one. I highly recommend it to all gamers, not just old schoolers.
