Dwimmermount Kickstarter is Live

Despite my earlier post, it appears that the Dwimmermount Kickstarter did in fact go live today. You can view its page here, though I'll probably put a little widget for the project somewhere on the blog over the next couple of days.

I'm very happy that this project is finally under way and I'd like to extend my thanks to Tavis and Alex at Autarch for lending their expertise in helping to organize this and to Dan Proctor for producing the Labyrinth Lord rules that are the basis for my campaign's rules (and thus the stats for Dwimmermount itself). I couldn't have launched this project without any of them. Thank you, all.

  1. I wish you the best of luck, and I am now a backer :) Albeit a small one...

  2. Congratulations, James! Best of luck with it. I'm sure you'll blow past your goal easily (although I think the $10,000 donor level might be just a tad optimistic...).

  3. It's been live for less than 5 hours and already almost $1500? Niice! Can't wait!

  4. Thanks for putting up with the delayed/not delayed snafu, James! It is a pleasure and an honor to work with you, and thanks too for the kudos to Dan Proctor on whose giant shoulders Alex and I also are grateful to cop a ride.

  5. Awesome, James. I love the extras, I had to go in at the $60 level because the separate map book is just a wonderful thing. So many modern old-school dungeon modules suffer from having the maps bound with the key, which of course is irritating to read and to use.

Do you have an idea of what the final page count will be? How many rooms it will have?

  6. I'm in and looking forward to this! I just received Stonehell Dungeon in the mail today, but one can never have enough mega-dungeons! Best of luck on this project!

  7. Love the blog. Also I love kickstarter, but I think in the kickstarter title should include RPG or Roleplaying. Think it might pull in more people that might not read the blog. I know I like to just search for rpg products on kickstarter and have found some cool stuff.

  8. James, you should post your kickstarter link over on www.rpggeek.com. ACKS has been getting a bit of coverage over there, you may be able to drum up a bit more business!

  9. Donated and tweeted about. Best of success, James!

  10. Just added myself to the Kickstarter, i swear, that site is dangerous, i keep spending future money like this and i will go broke. I hope the Dungeon mat turns out as awesome as it sounds.

  12. I'm a little sad there isn't a level between $10 and $40.

    1. What would you like to see there? We can't change existing rewards but can add new ones!

    2. There could be one in there with a map book w/o the full hardback book. Just a thought.

A softcover version might be another way to go, but I understand that might over-complicate the printing.

    3. I like Bruxist's ideas. Even a B&W softcover version?

  13. Just pledged at the $60 level; the separate book of maps is a real plus. And I'm very much looking forward to this. :)

  14. I'm in! I have every confidence this sucker will be fully backed within a week. And then some.

  15. As much as I'd love to see my intrepid dwarf that first delved into the mountain immortalized in a miniature, I'm in for a cool hundred. Good luck James. I know it'll be an amazing product by the little I've explored.

  16. I must've overlooked the place to specify whether I wanted the LL or ACK version. Should I contact Autarch, or will they be in touch later in the process?

    1. It normally happens at the end of the process, but we will work on ways of sorting this out sooner by having you fill out a separate web form to let us know what you're planning.

  19. Kickstarter will be the death of my attempt to keep on a budget. Congratulations on your product announcement.

  20. Hi there!

I would like to become a backer. But:

Is there any other way to back the project. I only have Paypal and kickstarter doesn't accept Paypal. Perhaps via a donation using the Grodnadia-donate-button and turning the donation into backer? The guys over at Autarch were so kind to do this for me with their PC project. Thanks for anwering

    1. Yes, that is indeed possible! You can email support@autarch.co and we will set it up for you.

  21. Can someone clarify whether the maps which are present in the $60-level "map book" are ALSO available in the $40-level hardback (but just not in a separate booklet)? In other words, if I pledge $40 are the maps included in the hardback book?

    1. Yes, all the content including the maps will be present in the $40 hardcover. We may present the cartography a little differently in the map book, but any pledge above $25 will get the PDFs of the map book for you to check out and print yourself if you like.

  22. When given the chance I will be there with bells on. I actually got pointed towards this by a friend, but looking up the term and some of the posts... Yes. Please.

    Slainte,

  23. Well James, I was going to wish you good luck with the Kickstarter then saw the pledge total so far, so it's not like you'll need any luck. Great start :)

  24. Kudos James! Success with this seems inevitable and you have earned it. I look forward to a friendly package arriving in the antipodes, just for me...

  25. This is an excellent development! Can't wait to behold the final product!
