Monsoon Season

Tom Wham is underappreciated in my opinion. Here's his "Gamesmanship" comic from issue #81 (September/October 1977) of Campaign magazine.

  1. I had a good laugh at this. The antagonist clearly sees the situation as a game, ie: to be enjoyed and not taken too seriously. Tom Wham's style appeals to me more as an adult than it did at the time. It reminds us that it is a game.

  2. Underappreciated? Don't know about the rest of you, but I've certainly done my part to push the average appreciation level up to the heights it belongs at. His games are consistently great fun, his cartoons almost always hit the mark, and his illustrations are simply delightful. The man draws the cutest elefants in existence, and the counter mix in King of the Tabletop is a wonder to behold. Just look at all those slightly different images. It's like Titan, only they aren't just silhouettes.
