  6. That is what is called a "coat of plates" Usually either steel plates rivited to a leather gambson or sandwiched in betweeen to layers of leather and rivited.

  7. I amend that. This is Brigandine armour, related to coats of plates...but a bit different. Its a lot like the Visby coat found in Danmark.
