    2. But are the monsters also 'mostly harmless' ?

    3. I like the 'better graphics' claim. On a TRS-80.

  2. Ahh "the good old days" when slaying monsters was a noble pursuit. Nowadays such speech makes you guilty of various "isms" and triggers calls for sensitivity. What's a monster anyway? Don't they have feelings too? Isn't evil just a difference in perception?

    1. That is one way to approach the game. You of course are free to play the game how you want.

I am currently playing or DMing in games that take both approaches and enjoying each game.

    5. Anonymous: you're correct. That's one way to approach the game. BUT there is a small vocal minority that say it's NOT. And to those people I kindly tell them to go "f*ck off".

    7. Anonymous, go to rpg.net if you dare to see how there are those who say their way is the correct way. It's unfortunate, but true.

    8. Is there a finer example of someone derailing a comment section in all of internetdom?

I hope the 'Monsters' love their children too.

  3. I like how you can send your original disks plus $5 for the updated version. So different, yet not so long ago (it seems to me).

  4. My brother and I had a lot of fun playing this on our PC Jr. :-) Also, I miss the days when computer games came with lore books!

  5. I remember that game being too slow to be playable on our TRS-80.

  6. back to the topic at hand: I wonder if anyone has the original game, if it's possible to transcribe the dungeon into paper media. Ya know, an actual, physical copy to read and see the dudgeon layout.

    1. It's available, along with its sequels, on Steam for a very reasonable price.

    2. The map is widely available on the internet, just search for Temple of Apshai map!

    3. Well, I feel kinda stupid. Simply Google that shit and BAM! there it is! Complete with encounters. Going to use the temple some day. May as a one off.
