Alternately, are there any other manufacturers who make dice of similar appearance and quality? I'm not wedded to Gamescience as such. However, I don't like dice with rounded edges and most dice these days seem to be in that style. I'd happily acquire precision dice from another source if I knew of one.
Any suggestions?
I don’t have anything definitive, but Lou Zocchi has had some health issues over the past couple of years. I’m not sure Gamescience is robust enough to overcome that.

Sharp-edged d6 are easy enough: used casino dice are cheap and colorful. - Bob P
ReplyDeleteWell, I definitively must be missing something blindingly obvious here, but: How do these differ from your average D&D style polyhedral dice sets ? (D4, D6, D8, D10, (D10)-percentile, D12, D20). Those seem to be available 'everywhere'. What am I missing here ? (honestly not trolling here).
ReplyDeleteSharp-edged dice are considered more precise in their rolling and thus more fair. I’m not sure it’s really the case now as it was when Gamescience first started.

DeleteBoth https://www.dakotairish.com/ and https://www.mattymakes.ie/dice make gorgeous sharp-edged dice over in old Ireland. Not sure if the shipping to the US may be an issue though.
ReplyDeleteI bought dice directly from Gamescience's website within the last 2 years. The transaction went fine. They responded to my email about their then out of stock D30. The only issues I had was a couple of the dice still had pretty big sprues on them, and my D14 was only partially inked. But out of 2 sets, I was satisfied.
