Take 2

Reader Richard Guy whipped up a couple of alternatives, based on comments made in the other posts. What do people think of these?

  1. I still like the previous one best (#2, I guess you could call it).

  2. Very cool, I prefer the second one.

  4. This one, with the gray background, looks perfect. The first font was too flowery and almost illegible, while the second was too stuffy and dry.

  5. The font makes me think of the horror genre for some reason...

  7. I like this one but I think the previous one is the best so far.

  8. Very cool, I prefer the second one.

Now, all of a sudden, I want to own this product.

  9. I like the one you posted yesterday (under the "How About This" heading. I don't like the longer "I" nor the smudgy grey background to the 2nd example.

  10. I like the 2nd one with the smudgy grey

  11. It looks like Richard Guy created a ransom note from a headstone. Cool approach, but I don't care for the long "I", and as black and white art -- it is a little too thin and weak.

  12. You need something hand-drawn.

  13. I like the second one shown here, the one with the blocky grey background, a lot.

  14. I'm still prefer the font of Option 2 (How about this). But, the gray background will be nice when you work up a proper logo, I think.

  15. I prefer the non-altered version.

  16. To me, it appears to be a blood spatter sign for an insane asylum. Think Arkham Asylum on a very bad day.

  17. I also prefer the 2nd option the one posted in the 'How About This?" entry.

  18. This looks a lot like the Roman square capitals used on Trajan’s column.

I don’t think it looks enough like a logo, though, it’s simply not distinct enough.

  19. This font is much better than the previous two.

It looks very Roman. It must have been graven in stone by those pesky Turms Termax cultists! I like it in both versions, perhaps the first one is better.

  20. I agree with Craig, reminds of some type of horror thingy...

  21. I just thought of an important question for this: does moveable type exist in the Dwimmermount world? If not, that cuts out a lot of possible fonts.

  22. I like either of those better than the original, which I found typographically offensive. I really didn't like the variation in weight between the D, I and E and the other letters -- it made it look like the font had been poorly cobbled together. These new ones look much more coherent and consistent.

  23. If you want the most "old school" feel, you've got to use the one under the "How About This?" heading.
