Turning the Undead in Style

Here's a steely-faced Peter Cushing unleashing the power of God in 1960's The Brides of Dracula while wearing a jaunty Alpine hat.

  1. Great pic. He reminds me of my grandpa -- they look quite a bit alike -- and Gramps always had a jaunty hat too!

  2. ha that is a cool pic. sometimes people of a certain age forget that Cushing had a career before Episode IV.

  3. Seeing this, I understand better why a cleric rather than a priest. Looks more like a clergymen than an antic priest.

In french, cleric has been translated as clerc, which is mostly used for a noatry's clerk, or any writer - even an old synonymous to intelectual - rather than a heavy armoured warrior-monk style guy.

  4. You know, based on these past few posts I think houseruling in some increased knowledge in monsterology AND monsteronomy would be appropriate for a cleric. Something like if they make a 1 in 6 check they're allowed to look whatever the party's facing up in the Monster Manual. (YMMV of course...)

  5. Maybe to turn undead, clerics should be required to carry a holy symbol and wear a Bavarian hat.
