Frank Mentzer Video Interview

Here's a recent interview with Frank Mentzer, where he reveals some details about the publishing venture he, Jim Ward, and Tim Kask are planning. It's fascinating, to say the least.

  1. Mr Mentzer looks exactly as patriarchal as my younger self always imagined real game designers looked. And hiding out in a bakery for 10 years bespeaks a deadly cunning.

Specialist gamer/geek boutique press idea sounds intriguing, and setting it up in these economic circumstances is a brave statement.

Thanks to Geek Preacher for the video.

  2. Well, his comments about the venture being more of a general publishing effort as opposed to solely for gaming materials makes the $250K price tag more believable. Though I still think it is a risky proposition.

    I wish them luck.

  4. Very enjoyable, although I'll have to admit I was distracted at least once by the quality of the passers-by in the bg. I'm an old friend of Frank, Sr., from his Santa Fe days, and learned of this through a FB post by Susanne. I'm sending it along to my grandson, Chris, who has a big interest as a game aficionado and a potential creator.
Frank Sr. has told me about his writings on Paul, and I would love to see something done on that.

  7. I would very much like to work with these guys. I've worked with Tim Kask recently, he's a great guy to work with AND to talk to. If you're interested, you can see some of the results at grimandfrostbittenkingdoms.blogspot.com
