Dan Proctor Interview

There's an interview with Dan Proctor, creator of Labyrinth Lord, over at RPG Blog II. There aren't any surprises in it, but there is some explanations and insights that might be useful for anyone who's curious about LL and its future. I was glad to see it.

  1. Thanks for the heads up. I like where LL's heading as well.

  2. I for one am really looking forward to the Advanced Edition Labyrinth Lord supplement. The options of AD&D married to the eminently usable and elegant mechanical framework of B/X D&D sounds awesome.

  3. I didn't realise it would be compatible with regular LL - so Thieves still on d4 hd, Fighters d8 et al? Elf Thieves balanced against human Thieves(!?!?). I thought it'd just be another AD&D clone like OSRIC (which I am expecting in the post shortly) :)

Given how much I love regular LL, an expansion set which adds options but is 100% compatible is intriguing, and I doubt I'll be able to resist it. :)

  4. I'm really looking forward to Advanced Edition Characters too. It's very close to what I've been looking for in terms of the "perfect" iteration of D&D.

  5. @S'mon

Yeah, it will be compatible. Basically take all the options of 1e but reverse engineered to work as an expansion of LL rather than a replacement. There will be enough in the book so that it can be a stand alone "1e player guide" also.
